THE DARK ROOM
For thousands of years, dark room therapy has been one of the most powerful self-realisation practices known to humans.

Some of the most influential civilisations in history, such as the Ancient Egyptians, Ancient Greeks, the Maya, etc, considered it central to their spiritual process.

As we dwell in our caves and chambers
completely void of any light,
so dark that a hand held just centimetres from our face
would not even show a thin outline,
The world dissolves around us,
We dissolve too.

The process
The dark room process supports:

- An unparrarelled reconnection to the self.
- A deepened connection to the formless and the "unseen".
- A direct and continuous connection to source.
- A scientifically proven, dramatic shift in brain chemistry.

We find ourselves dwelling in the space beyond the illusionary "reality" that is limited by our history, stories, past circumstances.
Benefits
- We connect more deeply to our truth
- We experience the awakening of new resources.
- Wounds which are linked to previous experiences find space to rest and heal.
- We experience life with less limitations.
- We release attachments

A process of death takes place.

Benefits of death

- We reconcile our fear of death and can live more fully.

- It allows us to reconcile our relationship to loss.

As the fear of loss is what keeps us from being ourselves, rReconciling this fear allows us to be in life less attached, less bound by the impact of the past.

We join the realm of those who truly live.

DMT
The main pillar of the dark room practice is the increase in natural production of DMT.
What is DMT? And what is its benefits?

DMT is a neurocompound produced by the pineal gland. It is most widely recognised as the main active ingredient in Ayuahuasca.

Supports the arising of intense mystical or transcendental experiences, leading to a greater sense of purpose or interconnectedness.

Promotes neuroplasticity and emotional processing.

Neuroplasticity is the brain’s ability to reorganize and adapt by forming new neural connections throughout life. It allows the brain to recover from injuries, adapt to new experiences, and learn new skills.

Can promote brain cell growth and repair.

Increases creative thinking and new perspectives on personal or philosophical matters.

Can support conditions like depression, anxiety, and PTSD

Can support the temporarily dissolving of the sense of self, leading to a deep feeling of unity or oneness.

FAQS
Q - Is it more beneficial to experience this process with a group rather than alone?

A - There are different benefits to both.

Doing it alone allows us to dive more deeply into our essence and our own personal experience.

Doing it with others support the process of expanding beyond the limits of the self.
The cons of being in a group space include possibly bumping into people on the way to the bathroom or to get food
Ambient sounds such as snoring or others which may be distracting.

Yet the pros of the group space include:

The experience of others can allow deep hidden parts of our self to be seen and to arise.

The experience of others can support us moving beyond the limitations of teh self, into a deeper connection to the source that is beyond all of us

It can motivate, inspire and support us to commit more fully to the practice and default less into the be more in our practice and less in the distraction of the mind.

We can feel less alone in the process, supported and cared for.

Overall, I personally believe the group experience is better.
Q - Will I really experience a death of self?

A - Yes.
A shift in the brain happens on day 4 that allows a certain ego death at the functioning of the brain.
This requires commitment to the practice to be optimised.

It also required a commitment to proper integration in order for the benefits of it to be integrated and carried into our lives.
Q - How do we eat?

A - Food will be prepared by our chef.
Each participant will be asked to bring 3 bottles, two for smoothies and one for tea.
The bottles and food will be left in a specific location and participants will be able to find it when it is ready.

How will be go to the bathroom?
There are 4 bathrooms and group showers to be shared by the whole group.
Participants will need to be able to make their way to the shower, toilet and sink on their own in the complete darkness.

We will have a practice run the day prior to the start of our dark room practice.
